GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING SURVEYS
Geological engineering surveys is a set of works on studying of ground properties to prevent from hazardous processes, such as subsidence, fracturing and creeping of buildings, constructions, dams, linear facilities, natural and artificial slopes, etc.
By nature, geological engineering surveys can be subdivided into the following operations:
Geological engineering surveys fulfilled by Ukrgeoproject MC secure comprehensive investigation into geotechnical conditions in a region (site, area, route) where construction is carried out, including studying of surface topography, geological structure, geomorphological and hydrogeological conditions, ground composition, condition and properties, geological and geotechnical processes and forecasting of possible changes in geotechnical conditions resulting from effect of constructed facilities on geological environment with the aim of obtaining the required data for objects designing, construction and operation/maintenance.
Geological engineering surveys include:
collection of data on and review of works carried out earlier;
reconnaissance of the works area;
cutting of workings (trenches, pits) and drilling of holes;
field studying of grounds (static and dynamic probing, stamp tests);
hydrogeological studies;
geophysical surveys;
laboratory studies of grounds and underground waters;
forecasting of changes in geotechnical conditions;
office processing of obtained data and materials;
Technical Report execution.
Program of geological engineering surveys for each object will be developed by Ukrgeoproject MC in accordance with technical assignment (download) of a Customer taking into account design works staging, complexity of geotechnical conditions, importance class of designed buildings and constructions.
